Constantinescu, Ovidiu, Vadim A. Mel'nik & Gerard, J.M. Verkley. Two parasitic fungi on a new host, Syringa (Oleaceae). Mycotaxon 94: 175-179. 2005. ABSTRACT: Thedgonia ligustrina, the agent of Ligustrum leaf-spot, and Gloeosporidiella turgida, known as a parasite of Fraxinus, are reported for the first time on Syringa spp. Both fungi were found in Sweden, the first in a tree nursery in the south, and the second on plants cultivated in Uppsala. Brief descriptions and illustration are provided and the distribution of T. ligustrina is reviewed. KEYWORDS: anamorph, Ascomycota, Lithuania, taxonomy |
