ABSTRACT: The genus Lacrymaria (Psathyrellaceae) is reported for the first time in Brazil. Psathyrella hypertropicalis is transferred to Lacrymaria based on basidiome morphology and scanning electron microscopy studies (SEM) of the basidiospores. This species is characterized by the velutinate pileus and the verrucose basidiospores 9-12 x 6-8 m with a well-developed germinal tube.
