ABSTRACT: Material from eastern North America, previously referred to Xanthoparmelia somloënsis, has been known for almost 15 years to be emaculate and thus not conspecific with the type of that species. Parmelia viriduloumbrina is the oldest available name for this material. The new combination Xanthoparmelia viriduloumbrina is provided.
