ABSTRACT: Two members of the genus Hygrocybe (sect. Coccineae) with green basidiomes were recorded in the central area of Veracruz State, viz. H. chloochlora and H. virescens. The collections were compared with the respective holotypes from Martinique and U.S.A. Additional macro and microscopical variation based on the recent collections from Mexico is presented for each species. Descriptions and discussions, including illustrations of macro and microscopic features, are provided.
