ABSTRACT: Fundamentals are summarized for an envisaged suppression of dual nomenclature in pleomorphic fungi and integration of the deuteromycetes into the Asco- and Basidiomycota. A detailed text is presented on the websites of CBS (www.cbs.knaw.nl) and MUCL (www.belspo.be/bccm/mucl.htm) entitled "Possibilities to amend or delete Article 59 of the International Code of Botanical Nomenclature to achieve a unified nomenclature and classification of the Fungi," by G.L.
