Wei, T.-Z., Y.-J. Yao & T.-H. Li. First record of Termitomyces entolomoides in China. Mycotaxon 88: 433 - 438. 2003. ABSTRACT: The first record of Termitomyces entolomoides in China is reported from Guangdong Province, based on a field collection. The species is characterized by a black pileus and a swollen stipe at ground level, being of medium size within the genus. This is the fifth record of the species in Asia after it was first described in 1952 from Africa. This paper provides a full description of the new record, compared with the other three collections from Southeast Asia. The differences between this species and its related species are also discussed. KEYWORDS: termite mushroom, distribution |
