Ramaley, Annette W. Igneocumulus yuccae, a fungus with evanescent asci and a Lecythophora-like anamorph. Mycotaxon 88: 157 - 162. 2003. ABSTRACT: Igneocumulus yuccae and its Lecythophora-like anamorph from cultures are described. The combination of soft, bright-colored, often apparently multilocular ascomata with one shared ostiole, prototunicate asci in a peripheral hymenium, the lack of hamathecial elements, aseptate, hyaline ascospores and the Lecythophora-like anamorph complicate determination of the relationships of this fungus. KEYWORDS: Hypocreales, loculoascomycetes, Sordariales |
