ABSTRACT: A recent reclassification based on molecular findings and morphological characters placed Acaulospora trappei in the Archaeosporaceae. The emendations reflect findings from a study of water-mounted spores of the type species of Archaeospora, A. trappei. A distinctive interior wall configuration, novel germination structure and dimorphism are reported.
