ABSTRACT: Geastrum setiferum, found on soil from the Brazilian cerrado region (State of São Paulo) and caatinga region (State of Pernambuco) respectively, is described and illustrated. This taxon is distinguished by its epigeous basidiomata with a setose endoperidium and small spores. Pictures of the capillitium and spore ornamentation under SEM are added.
