ABSTRACT: Halosarpheia heteroguttulata is reported for the first time from North America. This freshwater ascomycete was cultured from woody debris collected from the Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park, Florida USA. A Trichocladium anamorph is reported for H. heteroguttulata. The teleomorph and anamorph are illustrated and morphological similarities of the anamorph to T. constrictum are discussed. KEYWORDS: freshwater, Halosphaeriales, hyphomycetes, Trichocladium
