ABSTRACT: The first records of Podaxis argentinus from the province of Catamarca, Argentina, are described and illustrated here. The observation of their spores under SEM confirms one of the main distinctive features: the presence of a small germ pore. In addition, two other species of Podaxaceae from this province are illustrated with SEM: Gyrophragmium dunalii and Montagnea arenaria.
