| Mata, Juan L. & Ronald H. Petersen. Type specimen studies in New World Lentinula. Mycotaxon 79: 217-229. 2001. ABSTRACT: Discovery of two biological species within putative Lentinula boryana led to examination of type specimens of names previously listed in synonymy under L. boryana. Shape of cystidia and spore dimensions were diagnostic in assigning each type collection to a morphological species. Armillaria raphanica is the most priorable basionym representing the "non-boryana" taxon, and the epithet is recombined in Lentinula. KEYWORDS: nomenclature, specimen studies
