ABSTRACT: It is reported that the non green-algal primer nu-SSU-0402-5' amplifies algal DNA in the lichen species Pertusaria lophocarpa, Trapeliopsis flexuosa and T. granulosa. The photobiopnts of these lichens are confirmed to belong to the genera Trebouxia and Chlorella, respectively.
