| Partridge, E. Christopher, William A. Baker & Gareth Morgan-Jones. Notes on Hyphomycetes. LXXXIII. Castanedaea, a new genus in which to accommodate Alysidium minus. Mycotaxon 78: 175-180, 2001. ABSTRACT: The anamorph currently known as Alysidium minus is reclassified in a new, monotyp[iuc genus, Castanedaea, since it is claearly not congeneric with species of Haplotrichum, of which Alysidium is now considered a synonym. This taxon differs significantly in a number of respects from any other known catenate, dematiaceous Hyphomycete. It is redescribed, illustrated, and compared with broadly similar anamorphs. KEYWORDS: Alysidium, Haplotrichum, systematics, generic concepts
