ABSTRACT: Section Lepiota Singer contains species of Lepiota s. str. with fusiform basidiospores and a pileipellis in the form of a turf with long, thin pilocystidia, sometimes with an understory of much shorter, clavate elements. Two species occurring in Florida are here recognized in section Lepiota: Lepiota clypeolaria (Fr.) P. Kumm., and Lepiota aspericeps Murrill. This is the first account of the micromorphology of L. aspericeps, and the first sectional classification of this species. KEYWORDS: None. NOMENCLATURAL NOVELTIES: None. |
