Cui, Bao-Kai & Yu-Cheng Dai. Oxyporus piceicola sp. nov. with a key to species of the genus in China. Mycotaxon 109: 307–313. 2009. ABSTRACT: Oxyporus piceicola is new to science, and it is described, illustrated and compared with similar species in this paper. It differs from other species in the genus in its annual and resupinate basidiocarps, thick-walled and apically encrusted cystidia, distinctly ellipsoid and thin-walled basidiospores, and in its growth on Picea exclusively. Fifteen polypores of Oxyporus have been found in China, and a key to the Chinese species of Oxyporus is provided with a statistical variation of spore dimensions. KEYWORDS: Basidiomycota, lignicolous and poroid fungi, taxonomy |
