Zhuang, Wen-Ying & Tolgor. A new inoperculate discomycete with compound fruitbodies. Mycotaxon 104: 391–398. 2008.

ABSTRACT:   A cup-fungus on a twig of a broadleaf tree from Tuomer Peak of Xinjiang, China was examined. The combination of aggregated apothecia forming a hemispherical to golf ball-like structure, ectal excipular tissues with hyaline hyphae embedded in a gel matrix, medullary excipular tissues not gelatinized and with brown, granulate, interwoven hyphae, presence of crystals in excipular tissues, subcylindrical asci with a thickened and truncate, inamyloid apex, and allantoid ascospores makes it new in the inoperculate cup-fungi. A new monotypic genus Sinofavus is proposed.
