Santiago, André Luiz Cabral M. de A., Maria A. Q. Cavalcanti & Sandra Farto Botelho Trufem. Pilobolus (Mucoraceae) from herbivore dung in Recife, PE, Brazil. Mycotaxon 104: 111–122. 2008. ABSTRACT: Four species of Pilobolus, including seven varieties,were studied from tapir (Tapirus terrestris), camel (Camelus bactrianus), agouti (Dasyprocta aguti), donkey (Equus asinus), llama (Lama glama), horse (Equus caballus), deer (Cervus elaphus) and waterbuck (Kobus ellipsiprymnus) dung collected at the Reserva Ecológica de Dois Irmãos (8°7’30” S and 34°52’30” W), located in Recife, State of Pernambuco, Northeast Brazil. Pilobolus crystallinus var. hyalosporus, Pilobolus roridus var. roridus and P. roridus var. umbonatus are reported for the first time in Brazil. An identification key for species of Pilobolus studied in Brazil is provided. KEYWORDS: Mucoromycotina, coprophilous, taxonomy |
