ABSTRACT: Surveys on Geastrum diversity from areas of northeastern Brazil have been carried out in the last years. Three species belonging to the genus Geastrum were reported for the first time from this region: G. coronatum, G. fimbriatum and G. hieronymi and three from the rest of Brazil: G. elegans, G. fornicatum and G. ovalisporum. Descriptions, comments and illustrations of basidiomata are given.
