Fernández-Toirán, L.M. & B. Águeda. Fruitbodies of Cenococcum geophilum. Mycotaxon Mycotaxon 100: 109–114. 2007. ABSTRACT: Cleistothecia found in a soil sample containing abundant ectomycorrhizae and sclerotia of Cenococcum geophilum are described for the first time for the species. Although no connections between the ectomycorrhizae and fruitbodies were found in the sample, the cleistothecia were identified as fruitbodies of C. geophilum by comparing their morphology with the morphological characters of C. geophilum sclerotia and ectomycorrhizae.
